Physicians may choose to participate in Emergency Room and Obstetrics, although neither is required. Inpatient and long-term care are supported by the broader community of family physicians and shared call coverage, with hospital privileges available at Shuswap Lake General Hospital.

Shuswap Lake General Hospital is a 40-bed Level 2 Community Hospital serving a referral population of approximately 60,000. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency care, laboratory and diagnostic imaging, surgical services, inpatient and outpatient care, ambulatory services and obstetrics. Additional resources include operating rooms, CT, echocardiography, a Level 2 ICU, and visiting specialty clinics in orthopedics, urology, obstetrics/gynecology and pediatrics. Tertiary referral services are available in Kelowna and Kamloops.
